When the Government announced nationwide lock-down measures on 23rd March 2020, we had the idea to create a radio streaming service to keep our fellow neighbours entertained, supported and informed through the uncertain times and lockdown that lay ahead.

We originally planned to run the service for three months – but the response from our listeners was overwhelming, leading us to develop a full-scale community radio station for Lymm and South Warrington.

As an introduction to Mental Health Awareness Week 2021, Juliet talks about Oxytocin - a "happy hormone" that is known to have a positive effect on mood and emotions.

Oxytocin has the power to regulate our emotional responses and pro-social behaviors, including trust, empathy, gazing, positive memories, processing of bonding cues, and positive communication.

Release Oxytocin naturally by connecting with nature - and you will feel better!  Listen to Juliet's presentation on Oxytocin right here.

Juliet has also provided a FREE meditation session that can help with your mental health and wellbeing.  Download it below and enjoy in your own time.

Juliet has very kindly put together a wondeful 10 minute meditation session which will help you to relax and connect with nature.  Set some time just for yourself and find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed.  Turn off your mobile.  Sit or lie back and enjoy your meditation session.  Remember, practice makes perfect!

The importance of CPR was highlighted globally at the weekend, when Danish footballer Christian Eriksen collapsed during his country’s opening Euro 2020 match in Copenhagen.

The distressing event has highlighted that we could all benefit from some basic first-aid training, especially in CPR.

Dr Rosie was talking with Phil on the morning show about CPR and what you should do in an emergency.  You can listen again right here.

The event has also highlighted that Lymm could benefit from an additional defibrillator in the village centre.  Currently, the only defibrillator in the centre is at The Spread Eagle - however, this is cannot be accessed 24 hours a day.  There are other defibrillators in the wider area - including in Statham and Oughtrington - but Lymm Radio will shortly be launching a fundraising appeal for a centrally located defibrillator in the village, which can be accessed 24 hours a day.  Listen out for more details!

If you would like to find out more, check out the NHS Website.

Dr Rosie's Update - Tuesday 7th September 2021
With the sad news that Sarah Harding lost her life due to breast cancer at the age of 39, Dr Rosie has some advice for women of all ages.

It's back to school - and there could well be a spike in new Covid cases.  It's something that we'll be keeping an eye on, but in the meantime there's still a lot you can do to protect yourself including getting your vaccinations.

Listen again to Dr Rosie's broadcast in conjunction with Click Chemist right here.

Each month, Jamie Thompson - Chair of Cheshire Police Federation comes in to chat about local policing issues.  You can listen to the broadcasts again right here.

If you’d like to find out more about the Cheshire Police Federation you can check out their website or facebook page.

Listening has never been more important.
Asking for help is never weakness.
‘Creating Hope Through Action’ is a reminder that there is an alternative to suicide and aims to inspire confidence and light in all of us; that our actions, no matter how big or small, may provide hope to those who are struggling.
Preventing suicide is often possible and you are a key player in its prevention.
Through action, you can make a difference to someone in their darkest moments - as a member of society, as a child, as a parent, as a friend, as a colleague or as a neighbour.
We can all play a role in supporting those experiencing a suicidal crisis or those bereaved by suicide.
If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts and are not sure where to turn call the Samaritans, free on 116 123.
