LYMM RADIO

Welcome to Lymm Radio – your community radio station

When the Government announced nationwide lock-down measures on 23rd March, we had the idea to create a radio streaming service to keep our fellow neighbours entertained, supported and informed through the uncertain times that lay ahead.

Lymm Radio was quickly launched, immediately gaining incredible support from the local community and attention from the national press.  Within 2 days of launching, we were even featured on the national ITV News.

With the news that many local radio stations across the UK are to become networked from September, there’s never been a greater need for community radio, there’s never been a better time to launch Lymm Radio.

NOW THERE’S A NEW WAY TO SUPPORT LYMM RADIO!

There’s now a new way that you can financially support Lymm Radio when you do your everyday shopping – and it won’t cost you an extra penny!  Simply click on the link below, sign up with the Easy Fundraising Website and do your online shopping as you normally would.  The retailer will then pay us a small commission every time you make a purchase!

It takes 20 seconds to sign up and to download the “donation reminder” app for your phone or internet browser.  No credit card is required. When you visit a participating retailers website, the app will show a popup – please click on this to activate your donation for us to receive a commission and that’s it!  You still make your purchases directly with the retailer (not with Easy Fundraising) – and it won’t cost you anything extra!  Sign up by clicking the image below or visit our Friends Page to find out more.

MAKE YOUR OWN FACE MASK

MAKE YOUR OWN FACE MASK

The Government has announced that from 15th June, the wearing of a face mask will be compulsory for patients and visitors in hospitals and when using public transport. With this announcement, the panic buying public will no doubt scoop up any available stocks of manufactured masks - but don't worry, with a few simple items that you are likely to have at home, it is quick and easy to make your own face mask which will be every bit as effective as a shop bought one! The Gov.uk website says: A...

CAP IN HAND…

CAP IN HAND

Lymm Radio is now officially a Social Enterprise and we’re entering an exciting new chapter! Work is now underway to create our studio facility at 15b The Cross, Lymm.

When we’re fully up and running, our hub will have a community action desk where you’ll be able to drop in for general help and information about Lymm, for a friendly chat, to volunteer and to provide us with your record requests and news.

The studio will be freely available as an additional learning experience for our local schools, police and fire service – and we’ll be offering a range of free and paid for vocational training opportunities to all members of the public.

But we need your help to get this off the ground. Your generosity in keeping Lymm Radio viable during the initial stages of the pandemic has been truly outstanding. Thank you so much.

Paul and Ian are covering much of the initial investment, but we want to create the best possible facility so that we can truly offer the best possible experience for our volunteers, students and the wider community.

We have set up a new crowdfunding page so that we can equip our studio to the standards needed for a public access facility.

To give you an idea of the costs we are looking at – an acoustic floor tile costs £10. An acoustic wall panel is £30. The mixing desk specified for broadcast and educational purposes is just over £3000.

If you can spare a £1 – or if you are a business or organisation who can help in any way, please do get in touch. The easiest way to contribute to our studio fund is via our new Just Giving page:
