When the Government announced nationwide lock-down measures on 23rd March 2020, we had the idea to create a radio streaming service to keep our fellow neighbours entertained, supported and informed through the uncertain times and lockdown that lay ahead.

We originally planned to run the service for three months – but the response from our listeners was overwhelming, leading us to develop a full-scale community radio station for Lymm and South Warrington.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month aims to raise awareness about the disease and raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. It’s also one of the leading causes of cancer death in women, with more than 1.3 million new cases diagnosed each year worldwide.  Men can get it too.

Every year thousands of people are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK alone, and over 40,000 die from it. Despite all our advances in medicine, we still don’t have a cure for breast cancer. We need to work together to end this devastating disease once and for all.

Wear It Pink Day - Friday 22nd October is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK raising millions each year towards life-saving research into prevention, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer at The Institute Of Cancer Research (ICR).  Show your support and wear something pink!  Listen out to Lymm Radio throughout the day for programme features and useful information.

As an introduction to Mental Health Awareness Week 2021, Juliet talks about Oxytocin - a "happy hormone" that is known to have a positive effect on mood and emotions.

Oxytocin has the power to regulate our emotional responses and pro-social behaviors, including trust, empathy, gazing, positive memories, processing of bonding cues, and positive communication.

Release Oxytocin naturally by connecting with nature - and you will feel better!  Listen to Juliet's presentation on Oxytocin right here.

Juliet has also provided a FREE meditation session that can help with your mental health and wellbeing.  Download it below and enjoy in your own time.

Juliet has very kindly put together a wondeful 10 minute meditation session which will help you to relax and connect with nature.  Set some time just for yourself and find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed.  Turn off your mobile.  Sit or lie back and enjoy your meditation session.  Remember, practice makes perfect!

Listening has never been more important.
Asking for help is never weakness.
‘Creating Hope Through Action’ is a reminder that there is an alternative to suicide and aims to inspire confidence and light in all of us; that our actions, no matter how big or small, may provide hope to those who are struggling.
Preventing suicide is often possible and you are a key player in its prevention.
Through action, you can make a difference to someone in their darkest moments - as a member of society, as a child, as a parent, as a friend, as a colleague or as a neighbour.
We can all play a role in supporting those experiencing a suicidal crisis or those bereaved by suicide.
If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts and are not sure where to turn call the Samaritans, free on 116 123.
