At 7.45am on Tuesday 11 May a 16-year-old girl was forced into the back of a silver car by a young man outside the Co-op, Cherry Lane Lymm.
A number of people are thought to have been in the area – including a man walking his dog who challenged the male – and we are asking them to come forward by calling 101 and quoting IML 985170.
Detective Constable Sophie Davies, of Warrington Local Policing Unit, said: “I want to reassure the public that this was a targeted incident and the male was known to the girl.

“Since it was reported to police we have been following a number of lines of enquiry to establish the circumstances around what exactly has taken place.

“As part of that we believe a number of people were present at the time it took place and may have seen what occurred and I am encouraging them to come forward and get in touch with us.

“In particular a man who is believed to have been walking a dog at the time and challenged the man while it was occurring. If this is you please do contact us.”
A 17-year-old boy has been released on conditional bail while enquiries are ongoing.
