Consultation for Warrington’s Local Plan 2021 is now underway – and you are invited to have your say.  You may have heard about “The Plan” but may be unsure what it is – and how it will impact our local area and infrastructure.  We were pleased to welcome Cllr Graham Gowland to our morning studio this morning.  Cllr Gowland provided an easy to understand overview of the Local Plan – and particularly, how it would impact us right here in Lymm.  You can listen again right here.

The Local Plan 2021 has been drafted by Warrington Borough Council and guides decisions on future development proposals and addresses needs and opportunities in relation to housing, the economy and community facilities.

In Lymm, the plan has identified two plots of land for new housing.  One plot at Pool Lane would see 170 new homes being built (51 of which would be affordable housing) and another plot, behind Sainsbury’s at Rushgreen would see 136 new homes (41 affordable housing) and a new £5.6m Health Centre.

In addition to a series of Engagement Sessions being organised at the Halliwell Jones Stadium (Saturday 16th, Monday 18th & Wednesday 20th October) there will be two sessions held at Lymm Village Hall.  The first will be Saturday 30th October and the second on Sunday 7th November.  You are invited to call in to find out more and to ask any questions you may have.

In the meantime, you can view the draft plan and find out more at the Warrington Borough Council Website.  You are also invited to have your say.  Representations should be made online by 5pm on Monday 15th November 2021 at this link.

Thank you, as always to Cllr Gowland for joining us and for his valuable contribution to Lymm Radio.
