page title icon FRANCESCA LOWE: FIRST AID TO SAVE A BABIES LIFE

A few years ago, Francesca hit the national headlines when firefighters at Leigh Fire Station saved her son’s life after he experienced breathing difficulties while on a shopping trip.  Thankfully, her son Thomas made a full recovery – but since, Francesca has been on a mission to inspire other parents to enrol on a first aid course which can potentially save children’s lives.

Francesca’s campaign has been featured in the national press – on TV – and now on Lymm Radio.  You can listen again right here.

Francesca’s efforts quickly came to the attention of Wigan Council, Healthy Lifestyles and the Royal Life Saving Society – and the course is now offered at Start Well Centres across the Wigan borough.  The two hour workshops teaches parents, carers and grandparents how to perform CPR and what to do if your baby is choking or drowning.

Francesca is hoping to encourage parents to engage with thier local Start Well Centres to offer these workshops which are endorsed by the Royal Life Saving Society.  You can find out more about the Save A Baby’s Life Course at the official website.

Thanks for coming in to see us Francesca – lovely to meet you!
