Do you love living in Lymm but are worried about the increase in litter over the last year? Are you annoyed with seeing coutless cans, packets and bottles thrown into the hedgerows? Have you noticed discared facemasks in the street?
Monday 15th March sees the launch of a year-long campaign to keep Lymm clean. The Lymm Big Clean up hopes to encourage us all to love where we live – and for you to help in keeping our village, woodland and trails litter free.
Organiser Chrissie Knight was the special guest on the morning show today. You can listen again to the conversation – just press the play button below.
Get yourself some gloves, a litter picker stick and some hand sanitsier. You only need to spend a little time each week picking up and it will make all the difference.
The Big Lymm Cleanup group are also appealing for your donations for the purchase of litter pickers. They hope to be able to cover the cost of the pickers in order to encourage more people to take part. Decent pickers cost between £7 and £10. If you can help please head over to the Go Fund Me page.
Look out for posters and more information on social media for how you can get involved. Throughout the campaign, there’ll be a number of incentives to encourage you to join in – including the “Picker of the Month” award.
