One of Lymm’s most loved and long-standing traditions, the May Queen Festival is back for 2021 – and will take place on Saturday 25th September.
The first May Queen Festival in Lymm was held in 1889 – and has been a yearly highlight in the village calendar ever since – with the exception of last year, when the event was cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The 2021 event takes place on Saturday 25th September, starting with a processon through the village – with fair rides, stalls, food and drink – and the crowning taking place at the May Queen Field. On the day, Lymm Radio will be broadcasting live from the field!
This year, entrance to the field will be free – but donations on the day will be gratefully received.
Cllr Kath Buckley, Chair of Lymm May Queen, called in to have a chat live on air with Smithy this morning. You can listen again right here!
