At Lymm Radio, we are delighted to welcome Jamie Thompson, Chair of Cheshire Police Federation as a regular contributor to our team.  Each month, Jamie will be our guest on the morning show where he’ll discuss policing in our local area – and will also address any concerns or questions you may have.

The Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) is the staff association which provides support to the officers who serve our communities.  The organisation also aims to build public confidence in the police service and to be accountable for the services use of public money.

Jamie was Ian’s special guest on the breakfast show this morning.  You can listen again right here.

This morning Ian and Jamie discussed the challenges that our local officers have faced over the last year – and the potential issues that are emerging now that life is returning to normality.  They touched on racism in sport, people being kind to each other – and discussed the sad story of the “wool hats” placed outside Sextons Bakery, that were so generously created to bring cheer to our community, which were removed and possibly destroyed in an act of mindless vandalism.

Great to meet you Jamie – and looking forward to hearing you regularly on Lymm Radio!  Our next scheduled chat will be on Tuesday 10th August and we’ll be inviting you to call in or email with your questions a little nearer the time.

In the meantime, if you’d like to find out more about the Cheshire Police Federation you can check out their website or facebook page.
