It was lovely to welcome local actress and theatre director Parissa Zamanpour to our lunchtime studio!  You can listen again right here.

Parissa will be no stranger to fans of theatre – she’s performed and acted in many productions across the North West and is a regular at Altrincham’s Garrick Theatre.

Her latest production I REMAIN, is based on the true story of her great, great grandfather – Private Harry Hayes of the Manchester Pals 17th Battalion of the first world war.

The play follows the story of Will, Harry’s great, great grandson – who stumbles across a box of old photos and letters.  Will becomes absorbed into these letters and Harry is once again brought to life through the words of his past.

It’s an emotional and emotive story, perfectly played out by a cast which includes Callum Jones, Adam Perrot and Julia Lacey.

I REMAIN runs from the 24th – 26th September at The Empty Space, Footlights Theatre Salford.  Tickets are £12 (£10 concessions) and are available at the Greater Manchester Fringe website.

If you’d like to find out more about Parissa and her projects check out her Starry Night Theatre Productions Facebook Page.

Please share and spread the word – and keep listening to Lymm Radio…Parissa may become a regular here!
